A whistleblower crosses paths with an assassin when she joins covert operation as HR. Eden has every reason to be bitter, but she keeps her compassion while being super confident and competent. Linc is morally grey, cold and lethal until he meets Eden, and he's 101% gone for her pretty much from start. A deadly assassin tripping over his feet and catching feelings is very endearing. Their strong connection is written well, and their banter, chemistry, and sexual intensity are great. And the steam so very hot 🔥.

Linc's "touch her and die" vibes are the best - he's so obsessively protective of Eden. He's also really tender and sweet towards her (he calls her Precious 😍), while she grounds him, cares for him and loves him. Them finding each other is so wholesome and lovely. The suspense is really only more prominent towards the end, but I'm not too fussed - really loved the read overall.
