The book was incredibly researched and the content was compelling. I just didn’t like the writing style. I don’t like historical accounts that are just “this happened and then this and then this and then this”. It was also pretty settler colonial centered. Yes, it was all the terror committed by the settler colonials, but I was hoping for more Indigenous culture and lifestyle weaved in.
