The Reckoning of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin
4.0
I think i'm not over acting when i say that i was so hyped for that book because boi i so was and still am.
The first few pages made me scream with excitment because Noah wrote this beautiful and heart breaking letter for our girl Mara!
SPOILER!!!
( who is still missing and will be over the entire story)
SPOILER END!
And than we get to the part where the last book ended and i was like, okay let's start this! This is going to be the hell of a ride. But nope, that was not the case. In fact it gets kinda boring after that and that made me a bit sad because i was so excited to reveal ALL these dirty and confusing secrets but there was a nope as well.
Don't get me wrong, there were a few pretty huge things that (still) had me shocked but i thought we would get more explanation about Noah's and Mara's abilities but we didn't got much further into that.( maybe in the next book tho). So there wasn't much action , just a lot of conversations that most of the time lead to almost nothing.
But what i really loved, like really really loved is that we get to know Noah on whole new level. His thoughts and feeling towards Mara had me in a had grip that made me swoon and cursing at him at the same time.
We also see that he isn't the perfect guy that Mara tried to sell us during the Mara Dyer series and i really liked that. He is flawed and torn and that makes him more real and tangible. Most of the time you can relate so hard that you want to put him in a blanket and protect him from the world 😂
But what broke me the most were the last three chapters! That was pretty mean and makes me anxious to read the last book.
All in one i think it was a good book that will entertain you until the final part will come out. I also have to admit that this wasn't Michelle's best work, her writing is still awesome, it's still will suck you into the story but the story itself had a few weak moments.
So i will give this book a 3,5/5🌟 because i think Michelle could have used a little more action in here.
