I read this as part of the Modern Mrs. Darcy 2018 book challenge as a "book nominated for an award in 2018." It was an incredibly quick read, which kept me going, even though my initial impression of the book was that it would be incredibly arch and a little too distant from the main character. It ended up having much more heart than I was expecting, and I liked it much more. Didn't realize until after the fact that Greer had written another book I also read and quite liked.
