I would have loved the opportunity to meet this beautiful author whom my first child will be named after. But I console myself with the fact that she lives on in her literature. Reading this was surreal, as it's a culmination of all her novels I've ever read.

I've loved Buchi Emecheta since I was 11 and first read The Joys of Motherhood so reading this book felt like coming home.

I recommend it to everyone.
