So, full disclosure - Iโve done something out of character with this series. I read the first book Done & Dusted, and I liked it, thought it was fine, but I didnโt feel inclined to read the second one Swift & Saddled.
But then I was seeing people RAVING about this one, so I decided to skip ahead and give it a try!
I enjoyed it more than the first! Itโs not my favorite cowboy romance series, but it was still a fun read.
Single Dad romances tend to be some of my favorites, partially because thereโs an added element of connection between the child and the FMC - which was especially sweet here.
The dynamic between Grumpy Gus and Fiesty Teddy led to some truly firecracker moments, and their caretaker hearts were well-matched. While I did love how Gus and Teddy both loved so fiercely, Iโm not totally convinced of their long term future after such a fast burning romance without some necessary growth - especially with the kid element.

The relationships between fathers and daughters were the heart of this book. I absolutely adored the bond between Teddy and her dad, and I loved how it showcased the fortitude of love during hardships.

While family may be the heart of this book, lifelong friendships are the soul. Teddy and Emmyโs hard conversations and evolving sisterhood struck right in my heart.

While these books all can technically standalone, I do feel like I missed out on some tension and narrative arc by skipping the second one. So I would recommend reading them in order!
Overall, if you want a lighthearted read with plenty of sass, I would recommend this one!
