The Rules of the Game: Jutland and British Naval Command by Andrew Gordon

informative inspiring medium-paced

5.0

This is by far the most compelling and informative book of naval history I have read - or several dozen. Its use of two simple behaviour types, mixed with half a century of social history, provides an absolutely compelling account of the Royal Navy in the lead-up and aftermath of Jutland.  The coverage of the battle itself is masterful.
