I couldn't put it down. I started reading and then didn't stop. It is a riveting, fast paced story that leaves you wanting to read more. That being said, I am not sure I really liked it that much. I was torn the entire time I was reading not being able to figure out if I liked it or not. The concept is brilliant and engaging. A girl who can see how people are going to die by touching them? The story of wayward, ignored young girl who finally finds a family willing to care about her, even if they are a little rough around the edges? Who wouldn't want to read that!?
However, The story moves too fast in some places, and too slowly in others. There is vital information that seems to be missing often, but not enough so to make you want to stop. The language used is absolutely beautiful in places and rather disappointing in others.
The final conflict is what finally made me come down on the side of "I think I like this book," but the resolution at the end is slightly disappointing. I am wondering if she has plans for a sequel because it definitely affords it.
