Between Crescent City, ACOTAR, and Throne of Glass.. the ToG series has to be the strongest, and my most favorite of the three.
I will admit, I paused reading Throne of Glass the first time I read through it, because I had trouble getting into the characters. The action hadn't quite hit for me yet, and I was wondering why I was supposed to care so much about this book.
And then I read the second in the series... and it made ToG SO MUCH BETTER. So if you're just starting out, make sure you give the series a solid chance before DNFing.
If you're looking for a smutty romantasy, you won't find it here. There's very little heat in ToG, as it's primarily a fantasy story. But as a fantasy.. it definitely lives up to the hype! SJM does such a good job of setting the stage for the rest of the series, and I can't wait to continue my reread. My only complaint is that I'm tired of 19-yr-old FMCs.. we need more realistic ages, please!!
