The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
4.0
Audio book) Memoir about Jeannette Walls from childhood to adulthood. This story of a dysfunctional upbringing was one I could not out down. I’d never heard of Jeannette Walls but this memoir had such high reviews I had to give it a shot and it did not disappoint!
Her father is an alcoholic and her mother not a mother, which forces Jeannette Walls and her 3 siblings to fend for themselves and raise themselves in squalor since their parents cannot keep a job. The dad would steal money from the kids, pimp Jeannette, and yet the family unit still stayed together (?!).
Narration was done by the author and even though not a voice actor, I appreciated her narration because it was the way shes intended. Highly recommend!!
