A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

5.0

So this book came into the library before I finished the one I had...then one week into my time with this book the library tells me the next one's in. So plow ahead fast I must! Luckily this one was even more gripping than the last. It's hard to talk about it without spoiling things, but the end especially offered two nice surprised, one not so much of a surprise but still fun and the next something I didn't see coming but was pretty ominous!

The Starks are still my favorite family, but I enjoy every storyline pretty much. At this point Dany's is probably the least interesting to me, but that's because she's so isolated from other characters and plots. She's still likeable as a character and has one particularly fine moment in this book. This book also contained one the more genuinely upsetting plot twists, but one that also left me wondering just where things would go now. It still impresses me how Martin can keep me engaged with so many very different people (and sometimes animals), even in an epilogue.

Onward to Feast of Crows before it, too, disappears from my Nook!
