The Collected Schizophrenias by Esmé Weijun Wang

medium-paced

3.75

I quite enjoyed it, it was a fairly easy read (not too dense). I feel like it could have been longer; a lot of the essays didn't go into as much detail as I wanted. I guess it felt more like one story than an essay collection. but it gives an easily comprehensible insight into one person's experience with the spectrum of schizophrenia. maybe the not-fully-fleshed out nature of each essay is the point - they're all just fragments/ the complete experience can't be captured from one complete angle.

also sometimes the structure (e.g. the end of a paragraph) would indicate that a given sentence was a conclusion/insight but it was just a basic observation like 'sometimes i try to escape suffering'.
