This was a fun mystery, more tension and near brushes with danger than I expected but never enough to make it not feel like everything would be fine by the end. The translation of Southern idioms felt weird to me, but Matthews did a good job overall giving Peach Coast both Georgia and Hallmark vibes.
The mystery itself wasn't super difficult to figure out, but it was enjoyable to go on the journey with the characters and pretty well paced. I enjoyed the emphasis on friendship and relationship building throughout and the number of book references, especially for works by Black authors.
Graphic: Death, Grief, and Murder
Minor: Gun violence and Misogyny
