A gorgeous collection that made me understand the power of the poetry collection as a whole as well as introducing me to a number of poems I will long treasure as their own individual statements. Definitely going on my list to recommend to others and inspire my own work. Hayes makes the sonnet his own and I doing so, reinvents it for the country and the 21st century.
