Honestly, I was disappointed by this one. The writing was pretty clunky in the beginning and didn’t start to get a good flow with more distinct characterization until halfway through. Of the
surprise twists
, I saw
two
coming from a mile away and
how is it that all these main characters are able to find their one true mates, something that’s supposed to be rare? And why are their mates always someone really plot heavy? Why can’t literally anyone mate with, like, the barista they met the other day?

I went into this book for a fun, what I call “potato chip read.” But by the end I wanted to be done so I could read something that felt less hashed together and more edited. Nothing against SJM, glad she’s doing well. I just think this book needed another set of eyes before going to the printers.
