Helpers in My Community (Inuktitut/English) by Inhabit Education
2.0
I was a bit disappointed with this book due to the lack of information. Granted, it is for young audiences so you don't want a lot of text. However, there is no description of the different community roles -- each page simply states the role in Inuktitut and English (ex. "This is a doctor". That's it).
It's very good to have dual languages and to see what types of roles are in such a community, but I think it would have been very useful for children to see *how* a doctor helps in that community. One of the roles, for example, is "elder". What does an elder do, or what is their role in the community? I don't know, and I don't think small kids would necessarily either?
