Ten Days in a Mad-House by Nellie Bly, Brad Ricca, Courtney Sieh
4.0
This is a graphic novel which recounts Nellie Bly’s infiltration of a women’s insane asylum in New York. It demonstrated how readily the government was to commit women and how hard it was to get out once committed. The illustrations were excellent and added much to the storyline. The font was easy to read. That is not always the case when this reader attempts graphic novels. Through Bly’s reporting, the heinous mistreatment of the women was brought to the public’s attention.
