I have been a fan of this author for a long time and have been eagerly waiting for this book since I heard a snippet of the audio for this book. I would have read it anyway at some point because I not only love this author but because the blurb had me sucked in. However, hearing that amazing accent in the audio snippet, moved this book to the top of my must-read books. I can gladly say that the book led up to its hype and that sexy voice.
From the first chapter, it was riveting. I needed to know who this person was and why she was the person that would be on these types of assignments. As the story progresses, I get the answers as to who Fallon is, and most importantly, why she became that person. It heart to hear her backstory. I was unsure about Declan and also Ronan. Eventually, I got my answers and trust me when I say I was right to be unsure about one of those characters. Watching the interactions between Fallon, Declan and Ronan had me bouncing around a bit as I tried to see how these paths intercepted. There were games being played here and I didn't know how or why. The steamy times were hot with a certain person. The other just made me uncomfortable.
The suspense was killer in this one and the twists, one of them in particular, came from left field. I wasn't prepared for that one. It made me love the fighting spirit of Fallon that much more. There were some areas that I wish would have been explained a little more such as the motivations behind why one of these men did what they did and what they had hoped they would gain from it. Regardless of those though, I was all in for the ride and for watching a love story grow from this as well as the chance of a fresh start for Fallon to experience what she had missed so much of before. I was right for having moved this up on my list. Now, I just need to find all the books that this magical voice has narrated and read/listen (even though I rarely listen to audiobooks because I read way faster than I can listen) to them because his voice is amazing. I could listen to him read the phone book it is that good.
