Oh boy, I was really looking forward to this book, a second chance romance between a couple where one of them abandoned the other at the altar and they reunite on a marriage reality show – the drama! The angst!, I was so looking forward to it and this is just 27 pages of disappointment that I wish I had just dnf’d.  

 

The writing in this is just flat, not engaging at all.  I have no idea why I should root for the couple and I don’t think the author does either.  Carrera is just such an unlikeable character, there is one point where she talks about how the producers edit her to look like a villain, but she really is just an asshole (and a slut shaming one at that), I was hoping Vance would leave her, he wasn’t given much of a personality but I know he deserved better!  There is nothing redeemable about Carrera.  The one interesting thing about this book is the way Vance and Carrera decide to communicate with each other is through songs, this would have been so interesting … if it wasn’t introduced at the end.  This had such potential but just misses the mark.
