Saving Aziz: How the Mission to Help One Became a Calling to Rescue Thousands from the Taliban by Chad Robichaux

adventurous challenging dark emotional hopeful informative inspiring sad tense fast-paced

Provides a significant amount of insight into the political side of the Afghanistan Withdrawal and how things were handled by the State Department, military and NGOs. How the State Department continues to fight NGOs and their efforts to evacuate and help passport holding citizens, SIVs and at risk individuals escape.
It goes into detail about some of the unique tactics and hurdles NGOs have had to come up with and endure along the way. It also showcases the outpouring of help from other organizations and countries along the way, be it monitary donations, providing supplies or even providing aircraft and aircrews. A little preachy for me times but also touched heavily on the Save Our Allies foundation, its creation and their continued efforts.
