A pretty decent splatterpunk weird western, one with gore that I would say is just moderate enough that I would recommend it to someone looking to get into either genre. I don't love the white savior-y or noble savage-y stuff going on between Salem Covington and his mentor Dead Bear, but as a pure revenge story I think it's pretty engaging with characters that are dirty and slimy enough to feel like a proper spaghetti western. The language was pretty repetitive and there were more than a few grammatical and spelling errors, but the descriptions of various locations and graphic murders was enough to keep me interested for the pretty short length of the novella. I only learned while reading this it has a sequel, and I am interested enough in Salem Covington that I'll probably find myself picking it up somewhere down the line.
