Like The Horse Whisperer , the novel beings with an accident in the snow and involves horses, and it showcases the great American natural landscape. But that is where the similarity to The Horse Whisperer end.
It addresses marriage and family issues, as well as the destruction of nature for profit and the helplessness of those who suffer from it. And it also addresses issues of toxic and manipulative relationships, and how people fall into them.It is a brautiofully crafted novel, and I can't recommend it enough.
