Mai: The Psychic Girl, Book 1 by Kazuya Kudo
3.0
An okay read but that definitely feels dated. It's interesting to note how different manga storytelling is compared to the past. The writing and plot here are a bit clunky and a tad childish. There is a lack of smoothness in the way the story is told.
Drawing side, this is clearly an earlier work of Ryoichi Ikegami. He's come a long way since then. The backgrounds are not particularly clear and sometimes it's hard to understand what is happening when Mai uses her powers. However, his drawing of people is still, as ever, on point. Mai's daddy is just *chef's kiss*
