No one comes out of this looking particularly good, legacy media and the campaigns alike. We do get a fascinating insider baseball look alongside some depressing realities of journalism and politicking. HRC has always been over managed by handlers and herself, and campaign journalist sounds like a profession that is simultaneously of huge import and utter banality. Ultimately, I chose to read this memoir because I really want to watch The Girls on the Bus, but with the recent defeat of another possible FWP, Chasing Hillary has been somewhat cathartic— we’ve been here before, may be here again, yet still have no idea WTF to do.
