The first few chapters were kind of slow with the pace of story telling but once it picked up I couldn't put it down.
Benny and Byron are too stubborn characters but that also makes them feel very realistic. It shows how unanswered questions can lead to family splitting assumptions. Covey goes through so much that it seems almost like there is a touch of fantas that allows her so many opportunities to start over or find people in the serendipitous ways she did.
