Oakley Easton is a struggling single mum who moonlights as a phone sex operator to pay the bills and send her daughter to a school that can cater to her needs. Her busy double life doesn't leave an awful lot of time to even consider dating and she's pretty much written off her sex life. But when she meets the tattooed, cocky Pike she can't quite resist that pull of attraction despite her head saying he's all wrong for her.
Pike might be growing tired of the shallow groupies and random hookups his musician lifestyle brings, but he knows he's not cut out for family life either. So when Oakley makes it clear she's not after a fling, he tries to accept it and keep their relationship professional and platonic. Yeah....that was never going to work.

I loved Oakley's commitment to her daughter, Rae, and that she works so hard to provide the best for her. She got pregnant at a very young age and was totally unprepared for it, so it definitely makes you admire her all the more for the life she's built for them. Unfortunately this dedication has meant that men aren't very high on Oakley' list of priorities and her night job isn't exactly conducive to dating either.
Pike is the best. I loved his exuberance and fun nature. He pulls Oakley's defenses down, bit by bit, until she can't resist him. But he's not the flighty, wild fling that Oakley expects him to be. He's surprisingly sensitive about her daughter and helps to shoulder some of Oakley's worries.

I loved, loved, loved the chemistry between Pike and Oakley. Holy crap, it's just on another level. From the get go their attraction is pretty intense, but when they finally give in physically...whew! I loved the dominant side of Pike that Oakley brings out in him and that she can totally hand the reigns over to Pike. It's hot.

Overall, I was left a very happy girl after reading this book. It packs that powerful erotic element that's so prominent in the series but it's also an emotional rollercoaster as Oakley and Pike grapple with their feelings for each other. I absolutely loved the ending and can only look forward to reading more from the Loving on the Edge series!
