Vix Reynard and the League of Astonishing Vermin by Kory Merritt
5.0
For a short read, this was quite fantastic.
Long story short, this book plays out like a saturday morning cartoon version of Alan Moore's classic League of Extraordinary series. But instead of something you'd think was inferior or talked down to its audience, the book is a joy for literary fans of all ages with a simple story that's big on action. The easter eggs are as fun to find as they are in the aforementioned League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but easier to find and or understand (the page at the end about which character was from what stories was very handy).
