(Audio book) WOW, what a rarity that I was gasping for air while listening to this audio book! Story about a young man that dives to try to retrieve his father’s body from the ocean and gets sucked into the stomach of a sperm whale. Beautifully told, the chapters are titled by the psi left in his tank and past years, alternating between the present and the past, recounting his strained relationship with his father.
The book made me feel like I was the one scuba diving: a whole other world, quiet and calm. I found it fascinating that the author was not a scuba diver nor a marine biologist but clearly did research to make me think otherwise.
Narration is SPOT ON, capturing emotion and oxygen count-down. Highly recommend!
