I've heard good things about this book before, so I was surprised to say that I didn't really like it. He quite a while explaining how to interpret scripture. Maybe I was too tired or something while reading it, but it seemed like his rules were vague and not well explained, kinda like a syllabus that doesn't really make sense unless you attend the lecture. There were some parts I appreciated more, like his call for pastors to apply the text by living a godly life. He spent quite a bit of the book talking about specific passages of scripture, which were sometimes interesting in their own right, but didn't really clearly explain his principles of interpretation.
