Warning: This is not a traditional Wishbone story.

I had never came across a Wishbone Classics story before so I borrowed it from the library to read. Unlike the Wishbone Adventures or Mysteries series, these do not contain a dog main character (Wishbone standing in for the hero). Instead, it is simply a retelling of the classic story meant to help young readers understand a complex story. Wishbone is seen giving small comments throughout the book to help the author hint at the reader what's going on throughout. The retelling seemed alright but being an adult and having read the real story it's a letdown without Wishbone's usual antics.
