I loved this book, Ox was honestly a super relatable character (I personally believe Ox is autistic, just another one of my favourite characters being autistic, I think there's a pattern here😅) and just his struggles with his own sense of self was heart breaking, with years worth of abuse from his father, he really struggled to understand that he is more than that and just because he worked a bit differently than other people it doesn't mean he was less than. I do like by the end of the book he isn't really 'cured' of that thought process and those thoughts and feelings will always linger regardless of the people you surround yourself with but those people can make those thoughts become background noise and that's how you know you found people who love and support you. I also loved the casual affection between everyone it was just really beautiful to read and made me feel super warm. I'm excited about Gordo and Mark's story and can't wait to read about them. Overall this book was just amazing and I was in a rollercoaster of emotions, it covered a while range of themes; abuse, low self-esteem, sexuality, death, trauma, relationships, self worth, jealousy, healing, regret, sadness and whole lot more but most importantly found family.
