2 1/2 stars - This one is difficult to review: I have loved all of Holmberg's works that I've read up until this point so much (The Paper Magician series, Whimbrel House, Fifth Doll, Magic Bitter/Magic Sweet). They're quick-witted, unique, well-developed and capturing. I truly feel like I fell into all of those works.

Still the Sun didn't feel like any of those things for me, sadly, and I was pretty bored overall with the story. I stuck it out, hoping my opinion would shift and something would grab onto me; the characters fell flat (and stayed flat) and I wasn't invested in any of them, even toward the end of the storyline when things started to tie together. I grew a little frustrated at times because I was confused and the audiobook narrator was somewhat unreliable in critical moments.
