Darling Girl by Liz Michalski

I went ahead and borrowed a copy of this from my local library in spite of the reviews I thought the story line had a lot of potential but it just fell flat like others indicated it would. I love Peter Pan retellings especially ones that feature Captain Hook as a love interest or as the protagonist.
But this wasn't it. The story as a whole was boring and slow paced and it lacked detail (except that one scene which could have done with less) and the, what I imagine was supposed to be a shocking, twist was so obvious I felt like the author kind of insulted the readers intelligence.
The graphic detailing about how her daughter was conceived felt unnecessary and like the author was trying to bring a teen novel to an adult level. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.
