I have never read Emma before, so I’m sure some of the comparisons were lost on me but the book can stand alone even without that. The plot was very fast paced and a light read for the most part. Definitely a good option if you don’t have a lot of time to read and you just want something fun.
Because there was such a big cast and the audiobook was pretty short, it doesn’t really give you enough time to learn to tell the voice actors apart. This made it confusing at times and certain characters kind of blended in with others. I did think all the voice actors were great, there were just a lot of time in a short time. The background and scene transition music were both very loud and distracting. I did like the other effects (chips crunching, cheering, etc).
Because I listened to the audiobook, I didn’t see any of the illustrations and I feel like I also missed a bit because of that.
