I don’t know if this book is actually good, or if it was just written for me specifically. Come for the queer rep, and A+++ Taylor Swift references. Stay for a beautiful meditation on perfectionism, healing, and all the ways vulnerability sets us free. The characters are lovable, if a little trope-y. Ellie is occasionally infuriating, but in a deeply relatable and self-aware way. The plot is essentially 45 yummy romance tropes duct taped together… but the duct tape smells like Christmas cookies and happens to make you hope that someday you too will find a cool group of queer friends, and the courage to believe in yourself.
