Macy is a very good writer. I am compelled to read these stories even though I am repulsed by the characters. I have been acquainted with these types of women but I never really knew any of them. If Macy's portrayal  is accurate, they are so much worse than I imagined.

Almost all of these women clamor for men, value their attractiveness above all else, hate other women. There is a weird misogyny here. Perhaps it is the women of the era of the late 80s.
