I loved this book. I share the author’s love of historical art as well as the perception that history and art did not have a space for positive depriving of Blackness. I grew up wishing a book like this existed but never fully believing it could. With thought-provoking and thorough research, Zaria Ware wrote the book I wish my younger self could’ve read.
