The Beach At Summerly by Beatriz Williams

3.0

This was like 3.5 stars for some predictable twists and as Liz Lemon calls them “oh brothers”. Boy the CIA put a lot of work and effort weapon-zing a young girl. Would they have put that much work into it? Were there actual kicky fun communists? But it was an engaging story. And for once they actually talked like old timey people. I hate it when they never use old fashioned sayings when it was supposed to be the 1940s and kind of a buttoned up New England place. But it was a fun world to inhabit for a little bit, this old island in the 1940s. And I wanted ol cricket to get her happy ending so good for her.
