Beautifully structured and well-written. I was brought to tears in the last chapter when Barnes made callback to things in the previous chapters(like the ill-proportioned house and Shostakovich being brought to Jurgensen's place) in a different light. We don't know whom art belongs to-- and maybe we will never know.
