I loved this book. I didn't know the first thing about WWII in the Pacific. The topic fascinated me. I read it cover to cover without picking up any other books. The women in the book are heroic in a mundane way under extraordinary circumstances.

The writing was fluid,fact-filled, well researched, and compelling.
