I’ve loved Casey McQuiston as a writer ever since reading Red, White & Royal Blue last year and it’s unfortunate that I haven’t been able to read another of their books since but the moment The Pairing was announced as their next book, I knew this was my next pick from McQuiston’s catalogue. The Pairing is a book that is romantic not only because of the thrilling and exhilarating story of Theo and Kit but it’s romantic in the way it describes every little detail and just reading this made me feel like I was on the tour alongside the characters and there’s so many little things I’ve learnt that make me so much more invested in actually going to these real life places. The writing itself is also so stellar and I found it so easy to sink into this book and devour it in whole chunks at a time. What makes this book for me are Theo and Kit because these two are two of my favourite characters I think I’ve ever read about! Both of them show such a joyous growth and seeing each of their quirks in every moment of the story make them each so lovable on their own but putting them together is like watching a firework show. The way that they fall back together in such a naturally chaotic way is perfect for these characters and even having just put the book down, I’m already begging for more!
