Definitely a classic that holds up. I can see why it was so famous and I, like many others, find it extremely applicable and unnerving still today. It's one of those books that isn't really fun to read but is interesting, thought provoking, and frightening. I would support this being required reading in high schools over some of the classics that I read for school discussion. It's extremely important to think about the themes in this book. While there is some torture and trigger-y stuff it also doesn't really get too gross so I think it would be appropriate for teens.
I like the way Orwell writes and I liked this narrator. I'm not quite rating it 5☆ because it got pretty slow in the middle and some of it seemed kind of too fantastic without connection to the theme. But it's so great as a whole and I'd recommend to read if you haven't.
