It’s just okay writing and character development. Erica is almost an interesting character as a business owner in the tech space, but then suffers the typical FMC issues of whining about everything, having basically every male character want her, and having no real life outside of falling in love with the MMC because of trauma in her past. Also when she showed up to New York City in a fedora….girl what. Blake is similarly boring until you randomly learn late in the book that he started hacking because of inequality in America? Okay. 

It was fine, maybe I’ll pick up the second one when I want another quick read
