Four in Hand: A Quartet of Novels by Sylvia Townsend Warner
5.0
This fat brick of a book is a terrific compendium of four novels by one of my favorite authors ever. Read the four and see how you feel. For me, Lolly Willowes is dull and lackluster, perhaps dated, but the other three are stunning, and of these, The Corner that Held Them is her masterpiece. If you like her novels, try her short stories. They are genius. She had one strand in her that just leaves me cold: the faerie stories. I never have liked fantasy. It's just a matter of taste.
