This book is a high fantasy with low stakes. I love seeing how these two characters have grown over the three books. The narrator is great at using different accents for the characters that are from around the continent in this world. The book did end on a cliff note which is not my favorite but there has to be a way to continue the story.

Such a perfect LGBTQ POC rom-com! The writing of this story is so good I was able to feel the second hand embarrassment of the characters, and the happiness they had of course once together. All of the nerdy references that were just casually put in through the text as the characters used them was the cherry on top. As a fellow nerd who loves a good romance this book was amazing and can't wait for more work by the author.

Gives very "Assistant to the Villain" vibes in the best way. This book was a very cozy romantasy that is perfect for mood readers that want some type of fantasy, but also want a cozy story with a hint of romance.

Book was not my cup of tea and was not aimed toward my demographic at all. This series is aimed toward women 35+ and I was not aware of them and am in my 20s so I could not relate to the characters at all.
Overall I could not find a reason for the plot. At first the FMC was upset, but did nothing to fix it and was just going to keep being sad over a guy. Just not my cup of tea I guess.
