really liked this. touched on some pretty heavy topics with nuance, but also had genuinely funny and enjoyable dialogue and narration. (vague ending spoiler) not the standard HAE ending, but i think it fits the theme and i appreciated it.

related to a lot of bailey's experiences as a fellow audio haver and i appreciated the frankness. however the narration was a bit grating and (most notably) there were some STARTLINGLY racist and fatphobic passages??? very surprised no one else has mentioned this

points for the autism rep & asian MMC, but otherwise a lot of it fell flat for me. the conflicts didn't really intrigue me and the resolution was disappointing. just not a lot of substance.

very beautifully written but damn it took me ages to get through it! definitely not a light read. there are some really great bits of prose; less sure how i feel about the overarching narrative and structure. definitely feels like re-reads are necessary to get the full picture.
