A cozy mystery but there were some problematic undertones that gave me the ick.

The concept itself was intriguing but it ended up falling a bit flat. The millennial FMC felt more like a Boomer’s impression of a 30-something-year-old, and the overall quality of the editing proved to be lacking.

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A sensual and mysterious tale of women and their relationships to men, women, and themselves.

Highly unusual and highly enjoyable, Butter gives an intimate insight into Japanese beauty culture and gender roles.

If you like a story that investigates what makes people and cultures tick, dig in. You’ll find a delicious and fascinating story in Butter.

Now don’t mind me, I’m going to make rice with soy sauce and golden goodness 😉
