I found this at the thrift store and thought it sounded interesting — I couldn’t have been more wrong. It dragged on forever, nothing really happened, and by the time I got to the end I felt like nothing was really resolved. Not to mention the writing felt too formal, including the dialogue, and it was the type of book that spoon-fed you all the information in huge dumps. Ugh, I hated it.

This was a beautiful reimagining of Circe’s story. I fell in love with her and the captivating way she went about the world and the people and gods within it. It was heart wrenching and I definitely cried a few times.

THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!! I loved the mystery of it, the thrill of it, and I LOVED the characters. Yes, even the bad ones. They were all so interesting and well-rounded; I couldn’t wait to see what they did next. I also really loved the way this was written. I was glued the entire time.

Books like this aren’t usually my style, but I’m trying to branch out this year. It was a fun, cute little easy read, but it didn’t blow me out of the water. It was a sweet palette cleanser between a few more intense books I read.
