Of course we think we know the life of Tina but this story pulls out memories never talked about before and really brings us into her love story with Ervin Bach and her life in Switzerland.
Was exploring Sci-fi for the first time. Wanted to start with the infamous Octavia Butler. Also, the cover art was AMAZING! This went as I expected for a Sci-fi book. It didn’t grab me as an audiobook. It mostly felt like background noise. I know that I’m mostly plot driven and this seemed slower and more character driven so I just moved on. I want to give credit to Octavia Butler as a writer. Some of the descriptions I wish I would have read in text form so in the future I would probably read the physical book.
Tried immersive reading for the first time. I wasn’t really into the plot and was torn. Didn’t really want to continue. Since it was a book I borrowed. I just decided to return it and DNF the physical reading and carry on listening to the audiobook and 2x speed. lol. This eased my DNF guilt 😉
I hope others like this book as much as I did. It was a steady page turner but the last 100 pages of this one has me in a chokehold! This is something I will keep on my bookshelf and hope to re-read because there were some good quotes. At the surface it seems like a Hollywood story but there is much more and a story unlike others I’ve read.
