The story is great and the themes mostly well thought through, but this book could have used some more editing down. There’s a little too much inner thought and description that in some areas felt unnecessary and bogged down the story

This book is beautifully written, but I highly recommend checking the triggers before reading. I made the mistake of reading it while in a depressive episode and it VERY close to home.

Maybe don’t read this at the beginning of 2025 if you’re an American, this will not make you feel better. It’s well written and very easy to see how the America in the book came to be, and how it could happen in real life. It is a heavy book, tread lightly
